Holiday packing! Why do we pack so many things?

It is a standing joke that I spend eleven months of every year looking for my “Lima Dreaming” outfits but when I actually arrive I wear denim shorts for most of the three weeks. I want to wear different things but the lifestyle either at the beach or in the city calls for simple outfits.

I have been here five days so far and I have worn:

Zara embroidered shorts £17.99 Pampelone 55 blouse Valentino Rockstud slides (blouse & slides were bought earlier in year)

Whistles Alisha Split Hem Trousers £79  Whistles Ellen Casual Shirt £40 Havaianas in black £45

Seafolly black dress £85 Seafolly Indian Summer bandeau top £36 Seafolly pleated hipster bikini bottoms £39

I know I will wear these Zara printed shorts £17.99 and some old favourites my Denim & Supply dress and my beautiful Valentino Rockstud sandals

For my own sake I will update this post should I find hidden gems in my wardrobe here in Peru or actually wear everything in my case.

Only 5 more days to go to Lima Dreaming I am so excited …….

Recent events have meant that this year I haven’t done my usual Lima Dreaming countdown, an unexpected trip to Canada to see a very poorly little boy followed by an unexpected stay in Schipol airport certainly dampened my enthusiasm a little.

Tonight however I am sat here thinking only 5 more days and I will be on that plane Lima Dreaming all of the way.

I have so many little treats to take with me to add to my already beautiful wardrobe.

Every year I take a few additions to freshen up my wardrobe some of my pieces have been there for ten years and I still enjoy them.

This year I am taking:

Valentino slides

Zara off the shoulder dress

Zara printed denim shorts £25.99 here

My gorgeous Valentino sandals (these are Lima veterans) with The King of Peru in Guidi)

Beach toes in Valentino Rockstuds and Guidi Flipflops

Berenice Rose emerald green pretty dress

Pampelone 55 blouse

Zara embroidered denim shorts £25.99 here

I am sure there a few other things tucked away waiting to go in my suitcase, we shall see…………….

It has been a week of discovering so many pretty things…..

I have to say that this week has been a week of potential major obsessions and I mean MAJOR I even found the prettiest dress ever for my Lima Dreaming wardrobe. (really)

It is that time of the year when the christmas party becomes the topic of conversation and “what to wear”. I am not one for glitter and sequins so when I spotted this Whistles navy skirt I knew I had found  my outfit and I can wear it afterwards (many times). I will team it with a Whistles tee and some old but beautiful Prada silver wedges.

Whistles Au Revoir logo tee £49 here

Whistles Satin Pleated Skirt £139 here

and to finish it off my Prada wedges, I am not sure how long I can dance in them but they are so pretty.

I can’t resist a good hoodie at the moment they are my new found friends

Zara sweatshirt with textured hood £29.99 here

These slides are the things dreams are made of (mine anyway) and are perfect for Lima Dreaming, it is a shame I already have so many pretty sandals (apparently it’s written in stone)

Valentino Free Rockstud Slide Sandals in azure £535 here

This bag will complete my party outfit

Kurt Geiger London Tweed Kensington Bag £95.20 here

I think that may be all this week but I am sure there are so many pretty things out there.

My continuing obsession with furry slides ………

Last week when I flew out of Canada it was freezing but I hate to wear  shoes or boots when I fly long haul so my solution was my Zara furry slides with socks (channeling Isabel Marant)! Even if I say so myself it worked very well.

As always one pair is never enough I am always on look out for another pair in different colour or style. I do believe that this pair by Chloe are probably my ultimate pair but the others are pretty cool as well.

Foot candy Valentino Rockstud slides in four colours

I cannot believe that I actually said I did not need anymore sandals for my “Lima Dreaming” holiday this year, clearly I wasn’t thinking straight! (I probably had a fever at the time)

These Rockstud slides are just gorgeous and very comfortable (I know this as I have them in pale pink already) They will all work so well if only……………

Take one Isabel Marant dress, slides and two pairs of boots…….

I do love an Isabel Marant dress I can always do so much with them just by changing the shoes. This dress has had me thinking (a lot for a long time) about different shoes in different locations, I am thinking Lima Dreaming and winter in Manchester.

These would be my favourite combinations:

For work (personal shopping) pretty and comfortable.

Zara over the knee boots £59.99 here

Lima Dreaming in the sunshine with a cool pair of slides.

Isabel Marant Hellea Metallic Slides £295 here

I always need a cool pair of ankle boots (this would involve fake tan and a warm coat). In reality either my suede or snake effect Isabel Marant Danae boots would work perfectly but check this python pair I spotted today!

Lima Dreaming again with Valentino slides………

I know I really do not need any more sandals or slides for my annual trip to Lima but that doesn’t stop me looking (at all) !

These slides aren’t even available yet but just look at them they are so very pretty.

A Lima Dreaming dilemma black or white slides?

It has become a tradition (I do love a good tradition) that every year I take a new pair of Sophia Webster sandals to Peru as part of my “Lima Dreaming” wardrobe.

This year I love these Sophia Webster slides but do I choose black or white they are both so pretty. Both would work well with my wardrobe and both would work well with a tan! DILEMMA

“what else do you need” a thought provoking question.

It was early this morning when I was discussing my Lima Dreaming wardrobe with the King of Peru that he uttered the words “what else do you need” I immediately replied nothing because it is the correct answer in theory!

Yesterday I added two Mango playsuits to the mix and there is a Seafolly sundress waiting for me also but what else could complete my “Lima Dreaming” wardrobe .

Mango ruffle off the shoulder playsuit £25.99 here

I do have quite a few pairs of sandals but every year tradition dictates (I love traditions) I take a new pair of  Sophia Websters to add to the collection. These would go with everything and I could wear them for beach or city.

A new bikini is an essential addition every year but I always struggle to find bright colours in a style I like. This orange one is beautiful but I would mix and match it with other block colours. I have Heidi Klein bikinis that have been in Peru now for ten years and they always look as good as new.

No trip is ever complete without a new hat, I already have a wall full of them but there is always room for another.

And now the Lima Dreaming wardrobe is complete!
