Lima Dreaming……..another day in paradise………

The wifi has been a bit of a problem this trip but not so much that I am worried. I have more time to do absolutely nothing. The week days at the beach are perfect it really is a case of get up have breakfast (use the wifi) go to the beach and then sleep. I must admit the tan is coming along just nicely!.

Yesterday we ventured to Lurin market about 15 minutes drive away just for a look, we certainly didn’t buy anything useful but the photos are good.

The end of the day is surfing time for the King of Peru apparently it is his office.

Peppers in the market

Yummy Nuts

Everything is colourfully packaged you want to buy it even if you don’t need it

Soap powder

Bags of Rice

Shopping Bags hanging

The flowers are always wonderful

A Lima dreaming sunset that I have to share………

It is not often that I manage to take a decent photo so yesterday as the King of Peru and I sat on the balcony looking at a spectacular sunset I decided to dust off the Nikon. I haven’t used the camera in a very long time so I was more than a little surprised when I managed to produce this little number. Thank you Nikon

Lima Dreaming with a breakfast Bellini and an oceanview………

Finally I am in Lima and it is wonderful (despite the usual wifi problems) and I will be sharing all of my adventures with you. Every year we have a bellini for breakfast which we drink on the balcony whilst looking at the ocean (blessed)

Lima Dreaming countdown it’s 8 days and it’s all about beach life………….

The excitement is growing as I am in single digits only 8 days to go! I am looking forward to swapping my wonderful British pallor for gorgeous sun tanned limbs. The thought of wearing my shorts and sandals are keeping me awake as I think of all the outfit combinations, (there are many pairs of shorts and sandals) really sad I know.

Here are a few more images of things that play a huge part in our beach life. The surfboards belong to the King of Peru I would rather have a beach towel and a bikini!

Zara shorts and Sergio Rossi sandals (We have Zara in Lima)

A small selection of the surfboards on the patio

A view of the giant whale (or islands) just offshore

My Lima Dreaming countdown it is a colourful market day…………………

Not very long to our annual trip to Lima now and I am so excited!  Peru is full of colour where ever you look from the blue skies to amazing flowers but the local markets are also full of treasures.

My Lima Dreaming countdown has begun with a view………….

It is grey outside today so I thought I would share a little sunshine and ocean with everyone. I always say I won’t countdown the days until Lima every year but once I get to mid November I just can’t help myself. (it is 43 days to go) It isn’t wishing my life away it is just pure excitement to see family, walk on the sand, enjoy the sun and enjoy a Bellini to two!

This view always brings tears to my eyes (happy not sad) on the first morning and it is usually accompanied by a breakfast Mimosa or a Bellini.

Lima Dreaming an Update|South American Adventures|

Another week has passed in a haze of sunshine and sea at the beach. I can report that tan is building nicely although it is very hot and the sun protection is high.

We start our days with fried eggs and a delicious juice in the local market, for me it is always melon, they taste like nectar.

After that is usually a few hours on the beach and later maybe sometime in the pool. I haven’t ventured into the surf yet but I will this week unlike the King of Peru who surfs everyday.

The days are very lazy at the beach but on Friday we always head back into Lima for the weekend to escape the crazy crowds that head to the beaches.

Life in Lima is more hectic with lots of walks and cocktails to help with the heat!!

Hola from Lima I am dreaming no longer and its wonderful…………..

After all of the usual countdowns that I put myself through every year I am finally enjoying the annual trip to Peru. I arrived a week ago and it is already a wonderful adventure.

I was lucky enough to fly with my favourite airline KLM and in business (the perks of flying between xmas and new year when its empty!!) so it was champagne all of the way. As always the crew were fantastic and I certainly cannot complain about the food it was yummy.

A small view of the day champagne and my travelling companions, Isabel Marant and Victoria Beckham!

My first day in Lima was New Years Eve which meant a long weekend in the city, everybody heads to the beach for new year here  so we DONT

Our first meal out is usually at La Tiendecita Blanca a Swiss restaurant in Miraflores, its always been one of my favourites as I know I am safe in their hands! They also make the best Lomo Saltado which I love!!

The Whistles tee says it all Tres Bon a Cuba Libre and a Pisco Sour before the food.

Being in the city has meant a lot of walks around the coast line of Miraflores and Barranco it is so beautiful looking at ocean in the sunshine, the distance flies by. On Sunday we found ourselves in Barranco a very bohemian neighbourhood. Hotel B is our favourite place for cocktails as you can see below.

On Monday we headed out to our piece of heaven at the beach and boy was it worth the wait. Just smelling the ocean is enough to bring tears to my eyes, and the flowers on the balcony are so pretty too.

I will keep you all up to date with our beach life!!
