Holiday packing! Why do we pack so many things?

It is a standing joke that I spend eleven months of every year looking for my “Lima Dreaming” outfits but when I actually arrive I wear denim shorts for most of the three weeks. I want to wear different things but the lifestyle either at the beach or in the city calls for simple outfits.

I have been here five days so far and I have worn:

Zara embroidered shorts £17.99 Pampelone 55 blouse Valentino Rockstud slides (blouse & slides were bought earlier in year)

Whistles Alisha Split Hem Trousers £79  Whistles Ellen Casual Shirt £40 Havaianas in black £45

Seafolly black dress £85 Seafolly Indian Summer bandeau top £36 Seafolly pleated hipster bikini bottoms £39

I know I will wear these Zara printed shorts £17.99 and some old favourites my Denim & Supply dress and my beautiful Valentino Rockstud sandals

For my own sake I will update this post should I find hidden gems in my wardrobe here in Peru or actually wear everything in my case.

My beautiful sunshine weekend in Valencia……..Paella & Mimosa’s

Last weekend I was lucky enough to enjoy a beautiful weekend in Valencia with The King of Peru. The sun shone we ate a lot, drank the same and I even managed a personal shop for a friend with a little extra for me (oops)

We flew with Ryanair and whilst I was a little apprehensive it was a great flight with good service. What more do you need on a flight that is a little over two hours than pringles and a gin & tonic.

We stayed at Hotel Ingles which is situated right in the centre and is within easy walking distance of everything we needed.

Canadian Adventure -Vancouver Island British Columbia|North American Travel|

I have been in Canada for 10  days now and it is passing so quickly. Why am I in Canada? well I have to say the reason behind it is pretty amazing, I am here to meet two very special identical twin boys Sebastian and Nathaniel who were born on the 24th June.  (thank you Charlie & Phil)

Whilst they live in Victoria, today we took them to see some of their surroundings in Sidney, a rather genteel little town a few miles away.

Everything there is to see is on the sea front and it is so pretty. It reminds me of an English seaside town but in a time gone by. There are no amusement arcades only people fishing off the pontoon and quaint looking shops. There are lots of restaurants serving rather delicious sea food, straight out of the ocean.

Its very strange to think that British Columbia is on the Pacific coast, the same as my beautiful Peru, so I am very happy that we are all sharing an ocean!

Hola from Peru 6th Instalment | Travel to South America | Lima, Peru|

The last few days have been fairly chilled after the bites and the bad stomach I caught a cold!! A couple of flu tablets and an early night and it appears to be on the mend. The view from the balcony first thing yesterday is enough to make anyone feel better about anything, it is gorgeous.

The sun has been shining for the last two days after a couple of grey ones so I have managed a couple of beach sessions. Someone who shall remain nameless (King of Peru) used the zoom on the camera to sneak a photo of me on the beach yesterday!! Dangerous things zoom lenses!!

We started today with a Mimosa in our favourite place La Tiendecita Blanca, not a bad way to start a day in the sunshine. It is also the place to eat Lomo Saltado which is my all time favourite Peruvian dish.

Then it was off to the beach, no sneaky photos today, but I did love the pink and yellow bikini from Victoria Secrets that I wore. I am definitely beginning to catch a good colour now, the factor 15 may be replaced soon.

I am always delighted when I come to Lima and find a hidden treasure and today it is Velvet maxi dress which goes great with these turquoise Sam Edelman Gigi sandals. I have just noticed that sandals go nicely with the cushion!!!

Views from the balcony, hello sunshine

Me on the beach taken with a zoom lens!!

The colours of the cushion are reflected in the flowers outside, gorgeous.
