I want to live in Liberty’s‏

I have always said that I would love to live in Liberty’s, time has never changed that; I fell in love with it a long time ago.

We all have our favourite department stores, Harrod’s for its monumental grandness, Harvey Nichols for it famous 5th floor bar and Selfridges for being cool, I love all of them but none conjure up the same magic as Liberty’s. The magic starts as soon as I see the frontage and enter through the door.

Liberty's London Entrance

I can always picture the store with the main lights off and starlight coming through the roof, all very magical. There would be a big Christmas tree in the central atrium with lots of decorations and candy canes.

Today I started my journey looking at the cards and notebooks then straight into the jewellery. Today I spotted this necklace by Joomi Lin and lots of colourful bracelets.

Then I walked up the central staircase, the beautiful wooden staircase, to the 2nd floor and the cafe. I ate toasted teacakes and jam with a pot of tea, look at the beautiful presentation.

My Lovely Breakfast

On the way up I passed a gentle reminder.

Father's Day Poster

I love to take look into the central atrium, up and down, up to where the stars would shine would through and down to where the Christmas tree would be.

Then back up the beautiful wooden staircase with its creaky noises, and up again to the top. Here we have a cosy place for me to sleep and lots of blankets and cushions to keep me warm and comfortable.

There is even a table so I can eat under the stars filled with colorful plates and cups.

Looking over into the atrium I can see the shoes down on the first floor so off I go again to play and dream, what will they have, will they have it my size, of course they will Liberty don’t let you down. From Acne to Marant they have all of favorites, everything lined up like little gems.

A Treasure Trove of Shoes

The store is ready for closing now, if I am very quiet they wont know I am still here and I can play again tomorrow.

Graduate Fashion Week – Day 2

The week started in haze, being the new girl in town meant it was all a little overwhelming. Today however, I literally as though I have been here forever, everything already seems to be normal. The days are completely mad but I am already thinking about what to wear to the gala show!! Some things are just too important to leave to chance.

I took a minute to wander around the show before the doors opened to the public this morning, as you can see from the photograph of the Northumbria University stand all was quiet.

I was lucky enough to watch the International Show, there were students from ESMOD Berlin, Universita  Luav De Venezia Italy, Mimar Sinan Fine Arts Turkey, Istituto Marangoni Milan, Istituto Marangoni Paris, Shih Chien Taiwan, Pakistan Inst of Fashion Design, Parsons New York, Kolding Denmark, Accademia Di Costume E Moda Italy, ESMOD Oslo, Istituto Europeo Di Design Italy, Fashion Instituto of Technology Italy, Shenkar Italy, Bunka Fashion Graduate University Japan, Academy of Art San Francisco. I have included my favourite photographs from the show and I hope you like them too.

On Thursday night I was lucky enough to attend a beauty night with Beautymart hosted by DESA at their shop in Slingsby Ct, Covent Garden.

We all love bags and beauty so it was in essence a perfect combination and on top of that the Beautymart team where doing nails, hair and makeup HEAVEN.

For those in the know DESA are a Turkish quality leather brand, founded in 1972, it already has 70 outlets in Turkey. Outside of Turkey they are here in London and Saudi Arabia with plans to go to Milan, Paris and New York. Check out their quality products at www.desa.com I am sure you will fall in love with something.

Beautymart was founded by two beauty experts, Millie Kendall and Anne-Marie Solowij, both with years of experience in the industry. Millie we all know from Ruby & Millie, and Anne-Marie as a beauty journalist. Their philosophy is to find the hero products so that we don’t have to.

The experience started at the entrance where  there were drinks for everyone, champagne & elderflower water, delicious. There was an amazing prize on offer, all you had to do was hand over your name and address.

The Beautymart team where hard at work making everyone feel beautiful after a day at work using the special products chosen for the event.

I had my nails buffed into a beautiful shine and as you can see from these gold nails I wasn’t the only person to enjoy the glamour.

Musings of an Obsessive

What on earth have I achieved this week? It feels like very little as I have the flu and have had since last Thursday. All very boring as it has limited my activities to the sofa.

I have had very little chance to achieve the wardrobe recycling targets set lat week as I haven’t actually been anywhere, so last weeks challenge will have to stand again for this week.

I have been fairly obsessed with Topshop’s ACID hidden wedge sneakers, they definitely resemble a certain Parisian label’s offerings at a fraction of the price. I currently have them in my basket.

The hideous weather has stopped me obsessing too much about my holiday wish list, shorts and t shirts don’t seem to very important when its still wet and windy outside.

I did post a look of the day around sunny skies, I really want to wear my Isabel Marant Etoile Sandrine Skirt, so I chose the Topshop ACID sneakers and a few pieces from & Other Stories to complete the outfit. I think the sneakers would be perfect but they are still only in my basket.

I noticed a really nice statement necklace today from Zara, it would great with a Tee or shirt, the colours are very pretty. What do you think?

Zara Chain & Cord NecklaceMy mind has wandered back to my obsession of a new cross body satchel and I have two favourites, Sophie Hulme’s Satchel in soft black leather or a Cambridge Satchel in Navy.

Oxygen Boutique, a breath of fresh air…

The boutique was established in 2009 on Eastcastle Street London W1, the store has recently moved to a brighter and lighter space just across the road. It was my first visit and I loved it straight away so I will be going back.

As you approach the glass door the sense of light & space is immediately apparent. Inside the colour of the clothes and shoes is visible and very tempting. You can tell that everything for sale has been picked with love as they are displayed like gems. The colours and prints are beautiful and you feel temptation calling you from all angles.

The clothes for sale are all very cool indie labels with an excellent price point; there’s something for all occasions. You can choose from Clover Canyon, See NY, Alice & Olivia, Guiseppe Zanotti, Jeffery Campbell, Eugenia Kim, Dannijo, Holst & Lee to name but a few. New additions for Autumn/Winter include Carven.

Eugenie Kim Hat

The shop also stocks an excellent range of jeans by Mother Denim, J Brand & Current Elliott with some excellent styles in stock currently. I have included my favourite Barefoot Princess Jeans by Mother Denim, these jeans could not be more bohemian, the embroidery is beautiful.
