It is the King of Peru’s birthday this weekend so we decided upon a trip to London, we love London and go as often as we can.
The train journey was a giggle as we were delayed but filled the time with glasses of proseco and orange juice!!
Our favourite hotel has always been St Martins Lane, it is just cool. This time we found it under going a major refurbishment which is due to complete around the end of march, so we will be going back to see it completed. The staff are always wonderful and the rooms simple, chic and very comfortable. It is in Soho so it is only a ten minute walk from Liberty and then Oxford Street.
On Friday it was definitely the Kings day as we spent time in both Layers and Vertice on South Molton Street, they had plenty of pieces to keep him happy and then it was dinner at Le Chalet on the roof at Selfridges.
Bizarrely on this trip I insisted that we go to Harrods “Shoe Heaven” based on their fifth floor I can only say that the name truly fits. I know from past experiences that Harrods shoe dept always delivers, they always have great exclusives but they also have sizes, I have tiny feet, a 35.5 being my perfect size and harrods always have it.
Yesterday walking down one the corridors towards Valentino I passed 3 pairs of high Rockstuds and I have to admit that I couldn’t breath!! The blue pair was exactly what I had being dreaming of but I thought that maybe they were just “models’ and not for sale and even if they were for sale they wouldn’t have the mid heel in my size!!! The King of Peru spotted my trauma immediately and made the most of it. When I walked into the Valentino space and spotted the mid heels in blue and they said they had my size i actually did start shaking!!. I don’t know if any of this is normal but I couldn’t stop it and hey i was enjoying it all. It isn’t every day I get to buy some Rockstuds in the blue I had only imagined and only available in Harrods!!!
After that I was completely happy and we went to the Library on the Brompton Road where the King did a bit of shopping, the blue boots he bought are amazing!!
After the shopping was complete we headed to Zefi’s on Walton Street, the cocktails were amazing, I had a rose martini and it was divine.
