Outfit of the day Lima Dreaming style it’s about beach life..

Call me sad but today I worked out that it is only 159 days until my annual Lima Dreaming trip so my thoughts have naturally turned to the beach. I always leave my clothes behind so I have a good collection waiting for me but each year I like to add a few new pieces.

This outfit would take me to the local restaurants at the beach (Punta Hermosa)  and also for walks in Lima (with a bellini as a reward)

Lima Dreaming……..another day in paradise………

The wifi has been a bit of a problem this trip but not so much that I am worried. I have more time to do absolutely nothing. The week days at the beach are perfect it really is a case of get up have breakfast (use the wifi) go to the beach and then sleep. I must admit the tan is coming along just nicely!.

Yesterday we ventured to Lurin market about 15 minutes drive away just for a look, we certainly didn’t buy anything useful but the photos are good.

The end of the day is surfing time for the King of Peru apparently it is his office.

Peppers in the market

Yummy Nuts

Everything is colourfully packaged you want to buy it even if you don’t need it

Soap powder

Bags of Rice

Shopping Bags hanging

The flowers are always wonderful

And sunset the last shot of the sun before it vanished

A Lima dreaming sunset that I have to share………

It is not often that I manage to take a decent photo so yesterday as the King of Peru and I sat on the balcony looking at a spectacular sunset I decided to dust off the Nikon. I haven’t used the camera in a very long time so I was more than a little surprised when I managed to produce this little number. Thank you Nikon

Lima Dreaming with a breakfast Bellini and an oceanview………

Finally I am in Lima and it is wonderful (despite the usual wifi problems) and I will be sharing all of my adventures with you. Every year we have a bellini for breakfast which we drink on the balcony whilst looking at the ocean (blessed)

Lima Dreaming countdown it’s 8 days and it’s all about beach life………….

The excitement is growing as I am in single digits only 8 days to go! I am looking forward to swapping my wonderful British pallor for gorgeous sun tanned limbs. The thought of wearing my shorts and sandals are keeping me awake as I think of all the outfit combinations, (there are many pairs of shorts and sandals) really sad I know.

Here are a few more images of things that play a huge part in our beach life. The surfboards belong to the King of Peru I would rather have a beach towel and a bikini!

Zara shorts and Sergio Rossi sandals (We have Zara in Lima)

A small selection of the surfboards on the patio

A view of the giant whale (or islands) just offshore

Taxi rank outside the market in Punta Hermosa.

Zara shorts and Valentino sandals (I do love orange)

Lima Dreaming Countdown 11 Days To Beachlife…………

The excitement is building with only eleven days to go!! When we are in Peru we always split out time, its weekends in Lima and weekdays at the beach. I know my clothes will be in the wardrobe waiting for me, the beach, the food, the walks the view it is all amazing. It is time just spent chilling on the beach whilst the King of Peru surfs (I may give it go again) or walking along the coast for Piccarones (a bit like donuts but way better) or doing nothing at all.

These are some of the things I am l looking forward to at the beach.

My Charo Ruiz Ibiza skirt (love the colour)

Sergio Rossi sandals (tanned legs and orange sandals)

Hats (I do love my sun hats)

Sitting on the beach (me taken through a zoom lens)

Hola from Lima I am dreaming no longer and its wonderful…………..

After all of the usual countdowns that I put myself through every year I am finally enjoying the annual trip to Peru. I arrived a week ago and it is already a wonderful adventure.

I was lucky enough to fly with my favourite airline KLM and in business (the perks of flying between xmas and new year when its empty!!) so it was champagne all of the way. As always the crew were fantastic and I certainly cannot complain about the food it was yummy.

A small view of the day champagne and my travelling companions, Isabel Marant and Victoria Beckham!

My first day in Lima was New Years Eve which meant a long weekend in the city, everybody heads to the beach for new year here  so we DONT

Our first meal out is usually at La Tiendecita Blanca a Swiss restaurant in Miraflores, its always been one of my favourites as I know I am safe in their hands! They also make the best Lomo Saltado which I love!!

The Whistles tee says it all Tres Bon a Cuba Libre and a Pisco Sour before the food.

Being in the city has meant a lot of walks around the coast line of Miraflores and Barranco it is so beautiful looking at ocean in the sunshine, the distance flies by. On Sunday we found ourselves in Barranco a very bohemian neighbourhood. Hotel B is our favourite place for cocktails as you can see below.

On Monday we headed out to our piece of heaven at the beach and boy was it worth the wait. Just smelling the ocean is enough to bring tears to my eyes, and the flowers on the balcony are so pretty too.

I will keep you all up to date with our beach life!!

My Lima Life 6th Instalment|South American Travel|Winter Sun|

Well it has been another wonderful hot and sunny day here and I must say the tan is coming along nicely!!

Not wanting to break the pattern we had breakfast at the market again today, an avocado sandwich and melon juice, just too yummy for words.

The food is very nice but today I thought I would share some photos of the market hall, the meat, the dogs and the very scary mannequins!! All of that does not diminish the charm of it all though, I love it.

After that it was photo time for the King of Peru’s surf board collection!! Are surfboards like shoes, can you ever have too many? apparently not, as there is room for one more that can be used for very big waves!!

We had the chance to view  a great collection of chaquira jewellery, these are pre inca pieces of jewellery made with semi precious stones and I have included them below. I love the crystal one with the turquoise head amazing! It was a pretty impressive collection to look at the colours and stones are beautiful.

A few years ago this area was pretty rugged and the only residents were the fisherman and the surfers. Today on the beach I took a photo pf the parasols and the fishing boats, two worlds colllide.

The local market is chaotic!!

A Peruvian Dog, not very pretty at all!!

A very scary mannequin!!

Hola from Lima|Winter Sun|Travel to Peru|

Well its that time of year again and here I am sitting writing this in Lima, not only in Lima but on the beach. The sun is shining what more could I want. I have had an amazing year which ended with good news all around.

I travelled as always with KLM, efficient and reliable! I am always excited to get to our flat on the beach, the view is spectacular and I instantly relax. There is always so much that I want to do and see here but as always I never want to leave the beach. My mission is to find a new poncho, you can’t beat a great poncho they are so much better than coats.

This is only the first of many posts so I hope you like sharing my “Lima Life”

The view from the balcony, not bad at all!!

Breakfast Bellini’s on the balcony, its a tradition.

Flags in our neighbourhood Peru and Punta Hermosa

You can’t visit Peru without drinking a cold Cusquena!!

After all of that hard work it was off to the beach, I will be working very hard on a tan!

On Saturday we went for drink at the bar in B Hotel in Barranco. We enjoyed it so much we are going to try the restaurant this week.
