Flying to Lima is never stressful, this is my 7th year and I always fly with KLM. I travel from Manchester – Amsterdam – Lima. The journey from Amsterdam last approx 11/12 hours so you need to be comfortable. I wore my Uggs, boyfriend jeans, cosy sweater over a t shirt and my Brora cashmere socks.
On a KLM Business Class Flight, there is the choice of champagne, orange juice or water once boarded. I opted for the champagne, the only alcohol of the flight for me but it starts the journey in the right spirit. The staff on KLM are always lovely, very charming and terribly efficient.
In business you receive a complimentary comfort bag, these have been upgraded as you will see from the photo. Gone is the old blue pencil case style, now we have pink for the girls by Viktor&Rolf. The pack contains, socks, eye mask, face cream, lip balm, ear plugs, toothbrush, toothpaste & pen (all pink as you can see from the photo).
The seats are very comfortable and it is easy to adjust from upright to flat by simply pressing a button. There is a huge amount of legroom (as per photo below) which for me is never a problem anyway. You have your own entertainment centre and there are numerous films to choose from, from the latest releases to the classics.
Two hours into the flight I was presented with the Thai curry I had chosen, it was very nice. The last thing you need on long haul are heavy meals, this was delicious. It came with a starter and a mango dessert.
After that it was sleep and reading all the way, then it was time for the next meal before landing, I opted for cod as it was very light. Again, the standard of the food was superb. A big thank you to KLM for making my journeys to Peru every December so comfortable.
